Movie review : Fantastic Mr Fox.

Fantastic Mr Fox is a children's novel written by British author Roald Dahl. It was published in 1970. The story revolves around an anthropomorphic, tricky, clever fox named Mr Fox who lives underground beside a tree with his wife and four children. In order to feed his family, he makes nightly visits to farms owned by three wicked, cruel and dim-witted farmers named Boggis who is an enormously fat chicken farmer, Bunce who is a pot-bellied dwarf, a duck goose farmer, and Bean who is a thin man, a turkey and apple farmer and snatches the livestock available on each man's farm. Tired of being outsmarted by Mr Fox, the evil farmers devise a plan to ambush him as he leaves his hole, but they succeed only in shooting off his tail.
Even though the movie contains most of the same characters and uses several lines from the book, the movie is considerably different. To begin with, the entire premise of why Mr. Fox is stealing is completely different in the movie compared to the book. In the book, Mr. Fox steals from the three farmers to feed his family with the support and admiration of his wife. In the movie, Mr. Fox is a "reformed" thief who now writes an article for the local paper and his wife is utterly opposed to his thievery. Another major difference is the character Kristofferson who has a major role in the movie but is not mentioned in the book. As Mr. Fox’s nephew, Kristofferson is very athletic and causes Mr. Fox’s wimpy son a great deal of grief.

I really enjoyed watching the movie because it sends a massage to people that real man would do anything just to feed his family even if it means putting his life at risk. My favourite part of the movie was when Mrs Fox forgave Mr Fox after putting her family into risk. The least effective part of the movie was when Mr Fox took his child and went with him to steal, I think this is a bad lesson for children because they will think that stealing is a good thing.

My final school year at Tikhuni secondary school,Mpumalanga

In 2013 I matriculated in Tikhuni secondary school. The school is situated in Mzinti under Mpumalanga province. Mzinti is a rural area that still needs some developments on many things including knowledge about technology and  all the other stuff that are used in urban areas. Most of the residence at Mzinti are uneducated, so most of the teachers that taught me in high school are teachers that comes from other provinces.

Tikhuni secondary school is under Ehlanzeni District. The school is full of elderly teachers who are not computer literate, so most teachers depend on the clerks to help them on typing and printing out papers. The matter of having teachers who are computer illiterate at school led to the limitation of our knowledge about using computers , yet we did had a computer room which we used sometimes to do researches for our science subjects.

The subjects that I did at school is English, Siswati, Life sciences, Agricultural sciences, Mathematical literacy, and History. I managed to qualify for a Bachelor’s degree which was a great success for me. I also managed to be elected as the best learner in History subject which was a great thing that ever happened in life.

  My personal teaching philosophy.
My purpose as a teacher.
As a teacher my purpose is to teach learners and give them all the required information for them to understand the content of my subject. It is also my duty to come up with strategies or create a pedagogy to make the curriculum more flexible and easier for the learners to understand what I am trying to teach them about. As a foundation phase teacher it is also my duty to ensure that all the learners are emotionally and socially well developed in order for them to be able to participate in class activities.
Conceptualization of learning
Acquiring knowledge by instruction or study is learning, which is the purpose of education. Learning is building a bridge, unfamiliar content is made more meaningful bridging what is known to what is unknown. Learners are a varied and unpredictable group. It may take a visit to my office for one-on-one instruction before a student learns something that others in the classroom learned with five minutes. As a teachers I will take care of this learners using the theory of Howard Gardner of Multiple intelligence, so I will take a look on how this students are understanding better and the I will use different methods to teach same learners.
Conceptualizing of teaching.
I define teaching as the process by which I help students learn. I will guide learning by helping students individually, at other times instructing the whole class, and still at other times by encouraging class participation. If the teaching appears memorized, not spoken diaphragmatically, not spoken with eye contact, and there are no visual aids, then learning will not take place. As a well trained teacher I will allow the learners to take centre stage, I will be the type of teacher who will listen to the comments of students in order to develop connection between me and them.

Goal for students.
One of the goals I have for my foundation phase learners is for them to develop a capacity for a divergent and creative thinking at an early stage. I also want them to be very skillful listeners in order for my class to have control and co-operation. I want my learners to be exposed to the things that are happening in the real world at an early stage. I want my learners to be co-operative,learners learn better if they know the immediate results of their work, there for I will evaluate their work early and return it by the next class time.Foundation phase learners learn best through playing so i will give them enough time to play.

I will list five goals which I have set for my self as a teacher. Firstly is to listen my learners and respect them the way I expect them to respect me. Secondly I will invite other well experienced to sit on my class to get their input on how my teaching can be improved. A third goal is to be a well known caring teacher around my community. I want parents in the community to feel free to approach me when they want to talk about the education of their children. The fourth goal is to be a very representative teacher and a good role model to young people. I will attend meetings that supports the needs of the community and its people. My last, but not least,it is my goal to be nominated on media as Ehlandzeni District best performed teacher of the year.
My plans to ensure the context remains optimal.
As a 21st century teacher I have to get my self used to things that uses technology. In order for teaching to be less difficult, firstly u have to research information and that needs you to be computer literate and having an idea how the internet works. So as a teacher I will use the internet to ensure that the context remains optimal if there are other changes I will give my self time to go and research from my colleagues and other teachers who will be teaching the same grade as me. Conducting researches and investigations will be the two things that I will get my self used to, that will help me to understands the things that are going on in other schools around the country.
